Power points & outlets

Running the house off double adapters and extension leads is how most electrical fires start. Extra outlets where you actually need them is one of the cheapest jobs we do and one of the most useful.

Fixed price quoting. Based in Lyndoch and servicing Williamstown, Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Angaston, Gawler and the wider Barossa Valley.

Benefits

Why add outlets

Get rid of the double adapters

Piggy-backed adapters and daisy-chained power boards are a genuine fire risk. A proper outlet costs less than most people assume.

Put them where you use them

Behind the TV, above the bench, beside the bed, in the pantry for the appliances that live there. It is a small job that you notice every day.

USB built in

Outlets with USB-A and USB-C built in mean one less charger brick taking up a socket. Handy beside beds and in the kitchen.

Outdoor power done properly

A weatherproof outlet on the patio or in the shed means no more lead running out through a window. It has to be the right rating for an exposed spot, which is what we fit.

What we do

  • New single, double and quad outlets anywhere in the house
  • Moving or replacing outlets during a renovation
  • USB and USB-C outlets
  • Weatherproof outdoor outlets for patios, pergolas, sheds and pumps
  • Dedicated circuits for heavy appliances, air conditioners and workshop gear
  • Replacing cracked, scorched or loose outlets
  • Checking the circuit can carry what you are plugging into it

A warm or scorched outlet is not a wait-and-see

Discolouration or heat at an outlet means a loose connection, which is the kind of fault that starts fires in the wall. Stop using it and call us.

Worth a call if

Common reasons people get us out:

  • You are using double adapters or power boards as a permanent fix
  • An outlet is cracked, loose in the wall, or discoloured around the pins
  • A plug gets warm, or sparks when you pull it out
  • You are setting up a home office, a workshop or an outdoor area
  • A new appliance needs its own circuit
  • A renovation has left outlets in the wrong spots

Common questions

How much does it cost to add a power point?

It depends mostly on how easy it is to get a cable to the spot. A point on the other side of an existing wall is quick. One in a brick wall on a slab is more work. We give you a fixed price first.

Can you add an outlet without making a mess?

Usually we can get a cable in with minimal damage, especially with roof or underfloor access. If patching is going to be needed we tell you before we start, not after.

Can I get USB outlets?

Yes, with USB-A and USB-C built in. They are a straight swap for a standard outlet in most cases.

Can you put power in my shed or pergola?

Yes. A shed usually wants its own sub-circuit from the board rather than a lead from the house. We work out what it needs based on what you are running out there.

Why does my plug get warm?

Usually a loose connection in the outlet or an overloaded circuit. It is worth getting looked at promptly, because heat at a connection is how fires start.
