Common questions
Straight answers to the things people ask us most. Can't find yours? Call 0468 379 111 or send us a message.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Request a quote online or call, and we'll give you a free, no-obligation quote on any electrical job.
I have an electrical emergency. What do I do?
If it's safe to do so, switch off the power at your main switchboard first, then call us straight away for fast emergency help.
Do you install backup generator connections?
Yes. We fit generator inlets and changeover switches, and assess which household loads your generator can supply, so you can run essentials safely during a blackout. Never connect a generator to your home wiring without a proper changeover switch.
Can my hot water run on my solar power?
Often, yes. For suitable electric storage or heat pump systems we can schedule heating for solar-producing hours or cheaper electricity periods. Grid power may still be needed when solar generation is low, and your electricity plan can affect the savings, so we assess your setup first.
My circuit breaker keeps tripping. Why?
Usually an overloaded circuit, a faulty appliance, or a wiring fault. Try unplugging a few things and resetting it. If it keeps happening, get a licensed electrician to check it.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No hidden call-out fees. You get a clear price before any work starts, and for most small jobs that price is the whole job.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. RAV Electrical is a licensed South Australian electrical contractor with public liability insurance, and every job gets a Certificate of Compliance where one is required.
Do you work outside the Barossa?
Our regular run covers the Barossa Valley and Gawler, but we head further afield for the right job. Ask and we'll let you know.
How quickly can you come out?
Urgent faults are usually same day. Quotes and booked jobs are typically within the week, and we'll text you when we're on the way.
Still got a question?
Ask away. We reply the same day, usually within the hour during work hours.
